The estate was once part of a 10,000-acre sheep station established in the grand manner of the times by William Acton-Adams, a well-known lawyer and financier, in 1888.
Two years later in 1890, the Woolshed was constructed from native timbers.
The current and magnificent Tipapa homestead was completed by William’s son Herbert Acton-Adams, in 1928.
Since their arrival at the end of 2019, your hosts Jane and Stewart Whiteside have undertaken a soft refurbishment of the Homestead and the venue is looking more stunning than ever!
The Homestead offers the feeling of both elegance and heritage, perfect for a special event or for a romantic getaway in North Canterbury.
